Goo Goo Dolls: Biography and Event Details
Formed in Buffalo, New York, in 1986, the Goo Goo Dolls developed from punk and alternative roots into a melodic rock band led by vocalist and guitarist John Rzeznik and bassist and vocalist Robby Takac. Their breakthrough album, Dizzy Up the Girl (1998), produced enduring songs including “Iris,” “Slide” and “Black Balloon.” “Iris,” featured in the film City of Angels, became a defining hit and a signature moment at the band's live shows.
The group has continued recording and touring across a career spanning more than three decades. Its later releases include Chaos in Bloom (2022), while earlier favorites such as “Name,” “Here Is Gone” and “Big Machine” give longtime fans plenty to recognize. The band's emotionally direct songwriting and guitar-driven sound have helped its music connect with multiple generations.
At TD Garden, the Goo Goo Dolls are part of a bill also featuring Def Leppard and The Struts. The supplied event details do not identify a specific tour name or set times, so the order and length of each performance may vary. Boston's central arena setting makes the show a convenient option for fans traveling into the city for an evening of live rock.
